Attended an Imam Hatip middle school (religious school), Ela is a university student whose family is described as conservative. At university, Ela succeeds academically; she fasts strictly throughout Ramadan in line with her friend Şebnem from the same department and visits the campus mosque for prayers. Ela also loves cosplay, a performance art whereby participants dress in costumes and accessories to represent anime, manga, video game, movie, TV series, and comic book characters.

By purchasing costumes and wigs and by copying the mannerisms, stances, and personalities of their chosen characters to improve the realism of their depiction, participants in Cosplay aim to precisely depict their chosen characters. On her Instagram page, Ela regularly posts pictures of herself dressed in costumes sporting vivid hair and makeup. She also shows her character representations by attending different events.

Ela states she has not had any issues with her Cosplay style or activity even if her family is conservative. She says her mother supports her as she likes makeup. Ela claims her family following her on Instagram also appreciate her cosmetics and clothes; she has not received any negative remarks on her posts.
