I am stackıng my memorıes dıgıtally
One may say that the most participants maintain a digital archive. This archive opens a trip into the past. Social media lets people present their own stories thanks to its digital archive-like framework. Looking at this archive of their life, people discover chances to go back to their ideas, feelings, and recollections from the past. When invited to return to their social media accounts and submit material, the events that happened during that period are occasionally described from an emotional standpoint. Sometimes these stories also capture the social scene of that time period.
Almost majority of the participants and collaborators admit they cannot recall the material they come across on social media. This forgetting leads to a pain that strengthens their feelings of loss and missing out. The piles of information that do not form a coherent narrative cause the encountered items to remain fragmented, increasing anxiety along with a constant sense of change.
The constant exposure to piles of data causes an anxious state that also carries a deliberate need to forget. Young people “numb” themselves as a result, Şule said, to keep on with their life. However, this painful memory, which leaves residues, still turns into a passive pressure and unceasing anxiety.
