She believes that during the pandemic, she communicated with people she met and stayed in touch with within the boundaries of their profile pictures. To her, social media is an opportunity to elevate these acquaintances, but emphasizes that this advancement is determined by the individuals themselves. Sevim expresses that by sharing attractive places they visit, the best views, or things they are proud of, people can choose how they want to be seen. This manner, people have the freedom to choose their own image.

However she asserts that the first account she made was so transparent that it made her feel “weird.” For this reason, she decided to delete her Instagram account not long after it was created. “It didn’t truly represent who I am,” she remarks.

Now, she has a new account where she shares things she wants to remember and things that make her feel good. She mentions that she aims for her posts to make her viewers feel good as well. These viewers are usually her friends and loved ones. She relates her reason for reopening an account to the increasing importance of social media in people’s lives.
